Multi standard quality management documentation

When an organisation develops an ICS, many documents, forms, registrations are required.

When an organisation develops a Quality Management System, many more policies, procedures, documents, risk assessments, flow charts, forms and records are produced.

When an organisation develops a Quality Management System against multi requirements, tons of policies, procedures, documents, forms, self assessment questionnaires, records are produced.

In association with Bizzdesign FAQ developed a flexible Quality Manual that allows for multi certification. The manual, which is still under development at present, can be presented in any text editor such as MS Word or Open Office.
Better even, the manual can be presented online, allowing the user to quickly browse through the contents, and focus on any area of interest.

A first proof of concept is showcased at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~mich12/FAQ/qmanual/aa_reportstart.html

The online example is an empty Quality Manual (only the Table of Contents shows) against multi standards. We will soon add the possibility to:

  • show single standard manual (for instance, manual for organic compliance);
  • show combinations (for instance, organic and FLO);
  • show exerpt relevant for a selection of functional areas (for instance, the manual for the farm activities only);
  • show missing policies or procedures against a choice of standard(s);
  • show policies, procedures, forms that need adaptation because of standard changes.

The manual already contains (not shown online) the following standards:

  • Organic EC 834/2007 and EC 889/2008
  • ISO 9001
  • Rainforrest Alliance
  • BRC
  • BSCI
  • FLO SPO
  • FLO Hired Labour

Each single standard can be switchd on and off, dependant on the certification needs of an organisation. With the switch, respective manual sections will be added or hidden. Empty manual sections refer to the related standard requirements. Where a combination of standards require a similar policy or procedure, the requirements will be shown next to each other.
